Why we built Liaisly

We built it because our own phone wouldn't stop ringing.

Reece (left) and Trey (right) Schnippel — the brothers behind Liaisly — with Trey's son at a Lake Anna property.
Reece, Trey, and Trey's son. Lake Anna, VA.

We're brothers. Trey and Reece. We run Cardinal Ridge Landscape together out of Northern Virginia — Reece in the field on the crew walking estimates, Trey on the books and the back office. Two of us, one company. And at the peak of last mowing season, more inbound work than the two of us could possibly keep up with.

The pattern played out the same way every busy week: phone ringing through dinner, inbox stacking up overnight, equipment breaking down on a Monday morning. New leads waited hours for a reply. Most of them probably called the next company on the list before we got back to them.

Our gut told us what every service-business owner already knows in their bones: the sale happens when you shake the person's hand, not behind a keyboard. Every minute Reece spent typing emails was a minute he wasn't in front of a customer he could actually close. So we set out to automate the one thing we needed most — the back-and-forth of scheduling estimates — just enough to get a real human onto our calendar without either of us touching the inbox.

We built it for ourselves. It worked. So we're handing it to every other service-business owner who's tired of choosing between answering the next lead and making the next dollar.

Meet the brothers

Trey Schnippel

Fort Mill, SC

Finance background. Runs the back office at Cardinal Ridge — invoices, P&L, internal systems, customer comms. At Liaisly, handles product, the data, and anything that keeps the business honest with itself.

Reece Schnippel

Leesburg, VA

Aspiring arborist who decided to skip the corporate route and build a full-service landscaping company from the ground up. Runs the day-to-day at Cardinal Ridge — crew, estimates, customer relationships. At Liaisly, the voice of every service-business owner we're building this for.

We're not software founders pretending we understand small business. We are small business. We've felt the moment when the phone won't stop and the inbox keeps stacking and you start choosing between answering the next lead and making the next dollar. Liaisly is what we wished existed for ourselves.
